Changelog for blq ***** Version 1.23c February 18, 2006 Added a new tag, psbl to check the Passive Spam Block List (PSBL) at http://psbl.surriel.com. ***** Version 1.23b March 20, 2004 Since the xbl list, xbl.selwerd.cx, does not appear to be functioning any longer I replaced it with the Spam and Open Relay Blocking System (SORBS) blocklist. All references to the xbl list were replaced with sorbs and references to xbl.selwerd.cx were replaced with dnsbl.sorbs.net. Currently the webpages at http://www.selwerd.cx/xbl/ and http://www.selwerd.cx show only "under contstruction" messages. Queries of the list with blq are showing every IP address queried as "blocked". ***** Version 1.23a January 2, 2004 This version of blq is based on Chip Rosenthal's 1.23 version of blq (see http://www.unicom.com/sw/blq). The 1.23 version, which was the latest version on his site as of January 2, 2004, contains references to the Osirusoft block lists, which no longer exist. Osirusoft's block list server was attacked by spammers and the maintainer of the system eventually concluded that he could no longer provide block list services, since his system was being overwhelmed by the magnitude of the attacks against him, which was unfortunate, since I found that list to be fairly effective. I've labelled this version as 1.23a, since it is essentially the same as Chip's 1.23 version, except for the removal of the references to Osirusoft's block lists and the substitution of a block list I use in their stead. With the 1.23 version, you would see delays if you chose to query all block lists, due to the program attempting to query Osirusoft and waiting for a response that would never come. I made the following changes to version 1.23 (November 13, 2002) for Chip Rosenthal's blq program (see his website http://www.unicom.com/sw/blq). The line numbers refer to the lines in his program. 1. Line 1. Changed "/usr/local/bin/perl" to "/usr/bin/perl" to reflect the location of Perl on my Linux system. You can find the location of the Perl program on your system by issuing the command "which perl". 2. Added information on the modifications I have made and why I made them. 3. Added "cbl cbl.abuseat.org" under "hil hil.habeas.com". 4. Added "cbl" to the list of default block lists in the line "default sbl, rsl, pdl, opm and relays". 5. Added "cbl http://dbl.abuseat.org" above "dsbl http://http://dsbl.org/ 6. Removed lines 402 through 409, which referred to Osirusoft block lists. 7. Replaced lines 106 through 105, which referred to Osirusoft block lists with a reference to the Composite Block List (CBL). 8. Replaced "osirusoft-all" with "cbl" in the following line: "all" => [qw(sbl rsl pdl ordb njabl xbl fiveten spamcop hil rfci opm-all osirusoft-all dsbl maps)] 9. Replaced "spews.relays.osirusoft.com" with "cbl.abuseat.org" in the following line: # 206.47.217.48 : spews.relays.osirusoft.com : BLOCKED
