Comments: Filename Magic Pro is a tool to rename files within a folder. You can replace text within the file name, add prefixes and suffixes or name the files based on a sequence, change the case and more. The renamed files can be optionally copied to a different folder, leaving the originals intact. Filename Magic Pro also offers support for audio files from a CD and can retrieve the track information via the Internet. Additional features include changing of file attributes, various filtering options, subfolder processing, Windows Explorer integration and also an option to create an Undo batch file that lets you reverse any changes if needed.

This is a trial version that has a short countdown timer when the program starts. If a registration code is entered, the program starts without the countdown timer.

If you attempt to install this software on a recent version of a Microsoft Windows operating system, such as Windows 8.1, you will see the warning below, since the application is not digitally signed by the developer. Though it still works well, this application is a decade or more old and was developed at a time when digital signatures were not commonly expected for applications.

If you click on the "More info" link, you will then see a "Run anyway" button appear which will allow you to install the software.

The program requires at least 1.3 MB of disk space.

When you start the software, you will see a "Click here to purchase" link, but, if you click on it you will now get a "page not found" or similar message, because the developer has ceased development and sales of the software.

If you have a registration code from a purchase of the software in the past, you can click on About, which will display a window where you can enter that registration code.

Once you've entered the registration code, you will be advised to restart the program. The registration code is stored in the Windows Registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\L5 Software Group\Filename Magic with a value name of AppRegKey as type REG_SZ.
