I'm not sure what triggers the problem, but it is tied to the registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DataViz\PasswordsPlus\List View Info
.
You can alter that registry key manually using regedit
or you
can use this Passwords Plus Registry Fix
file. To use the file, make sure Passwords Plus is not open. Then open the
file from the website or download it and double-click
on it to open it. When prompted as to adding the information in it to the
registry, click on "Yes". You should then see a message indicating the
information in it has been added to the registry. You can open the file with
Notepad, since it is a text file, if you want to see what is in it. Once
the registry change has been made, you can reopen Passwords Plus; hopefully,
you will then no longer have the problem.
You could also manually alter the contents of the registry key yourself, if
you are comfortable with editing the registry. But be forewarned, if you
aren't experienced in editing registry settings, you may create a bigger
problem than you had prior to editing the registry, if you aren't careful.
You can always export the section of the registry you are going to change,
though, and reimport it with regedit to put the section back to its previous
state. I fixed the problem by replacing 54 6a d0 77 54 6a d0 77
with c3 00 00 00 5f 00 00 00
. I used the latter value because I
suspected the problem was in the "List View Info" registry key and so I
copied the value for that field from a system that didn't have the display
problem for entries in a category. Note: if you see additional zeroes in the
field after the 8 bytes, delete them, which you can do using the delete
and backspace key while editing the registry value. The value should be exactly 8 bytes long, i.e. c3 00 00 00 5f 00 00 00
.
When the entries are displaying properly, you should see entries as in the image below.

I've used this technique with version 1.006 (71) of Passwords Plus to correct the problem.
