If you are looking for a free program to allow you to burn files to CDs or DVDs, including iso files, under Microsoft Windows, InfraRecorder is a good choice.

InfraRecorder is a free graphical CD and DVD writing program for Microsoft Windows, licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License version 2. Started by Christian Kindahl in 2006, InfraRecorder uses the cdrtools software to perform the actual burning. InfraRecorder was born in the Google Summer of Code 2006¹

InfraRecorder has the following features:

• Create custom data, audio and mixed-mode projects and record them to physical discs as well as disc images.
• Supports recording to dual-layer DVDs.
• Blank (erase) rewritable discs using four different methods.
• Record disc images (ISO and BIN/CUE).
• Fixate discs (write lead-out information to prevent further data from being added to the disc).
• Scan the SCSI/IDEbus for devices and collect information about their capabilities.
• Create disc copies, on the fly and using a temporary disc image.
• Import session data from multi-session discs and add more sessions to them.
• Display disc information.
• Save audio and data tracks to files (.wav, .wma, .ogg, .mp3 and .iso).

To burn an iso file to disc using InfraRecorder, take the following steps:

1. From the startup window, select the "write the contents of a disc image to a CD" option from the toolbar at the top of the window.
2. Browse to where the iso file is located and select it.
3. Click on the OK button on the burn window that opens.
4. When the image is burned, the disc will be ejected, if you kept the default option. Click on OK to close the Burning Image window.
