To determine the video resolution from a command line, such as a Terminal shell prompt, on an OS X system, you can use the command
system_profiler SPDisplaysDataType.

The Screen Information page at BrowserSpy.dk will also report a system's screen resolution, if you visit that page using a browser on the system. In this case it reports a width of 1440 and a height of 900 pixels for the MacBook Pro.
